And I like the look of the new Avalon?
Prime example here. If Toyota were to make the Camry ‘Bold’, they should have made it closer to the Avalon. We seem to live in an age where every car has to be angry, the Avalon isn’t, and it looks gorgeous in person, while especially considering its a Toyota.
While I understand their place on Lexus cars, the spindle grille has no place on Toyota’s models, cut the crap.

This is Oppo, so you will be castrated for liking cars we’re all supposed to think are terrible, or that aren’t Ford or Mazda products.
I like the new Camry. I think it looks great in person. As well as the Avalon. Both cars don’t look bad at all.
The first time I saw the new Camry, I had to do a double take, it was a very striking car.

Both cars are really quite good looking.

I love the new Camry, especially the XSE version. I don’t like the Avalon as much anymore but I remember loving it when it first came out.

The premium version of Camry kind of splits the difference between the sporty/bold version of Camry, and the entry-lux Avalon.
It has the slatted grille, up-spec headlights, and a chrome strike in the upper grille. If the bumper beam cover were body-color, it would really look like Avalon, at least on the outside.
Avalon’s big advantage is being wider, and having a nicer interior... something it shares with Venza.
I wish they had revised the Venza, instead of canceling it. Camry and Avalon are both limited by their trunk volume. compared to a vehicle with a rear hatch, the versatility can’t be matched. Not scraping parking lot speed bumps the size of parking bumpers with additional ride height, and AWD all-weather versatility doesn’t hurt, either...
I don’t want to go back to a sedan, and Lexus’ new RX is ugly as sin.

I think it looks like trash.

I mostly like the look of the current Avalon aside from the sheer size of its maw; I should note, though, that it’s going to get an angrier look once the refreshed 2016 Avalon arrives.
I personally like the Camry’s exterior; its grille strikes me as a bit too wide, but I otherwise like the looks (blatantly obvious faux quarter windows aside).

Looks better in black thanks to the grill/fish mouth

When I worked next to the camry plant I saw a custom purple (bit of blue) new Avalon. Looked good.

Meh, both are prime examples of everything wrong with today's automotive design trends, and both are comically ugly.

It is revolting. We were going to buy a 2016 Camry until we saw the grille. Bought a different brand instead. The Lexus is even uglier, if that is possible.
But an aggressive sports car grille on a family sedan? Dumb.
